In high school, Katherine was offered two, four-year scholarships to prominent music schools: Curtis Academy of Music in Philadelphia and Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana.  She chose to study at Indiana University School of Music with the world-renowned pedagogue, Josef Gingold (who was also the teacher of Joshua Bell and Midori). Katherine received her Bachelor of Music Degree, cum laude, from Indiana University. She studied piano with the nationally-acclaimed pianist, Gladys Gladstone, who was a student of Arthur Schnabel.

Katherine studied chamber music with the Guarneri String Quartet, the Cleveland String Quartet at the The New School in New York City. At Aspen Music Festival, Katherine  studied with Dorothy Delay from the Juilliard School of Music and performed as a member of the Aspen Music Festival Professional Chamber Orchestra. Katherine performed violin in solo recitals and in the symphony orchestra at the Music Academy of the West Orchestra in Santa Barbara, CA.

Katherine performed five concertos as violin soloist with the Utah  Symphony Orchestra.  She played violin in the Utah Symphony for four years; and performed with the Utah Symphony on two, month-long European Tours. Katherine performed Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 3, Mov. 1, with the Treasure Valley Orchestra. Katherine loves to improvise music on the piano and the violin,  compose, record and perform as a pianist, solo violinist and chamber musician.

Chamber Performances: Katherine was the Artistic Director and Violinist for Katherine’s Concert Associates, a select group of Los Angeles-based musicians who performed chamber music for special events in the Los Angeles area. (1989 to 2014) 

Prior to moving to Southern Califoania to start her chamber music performing business, Katherine played violin for numerous commercial studio recordings for 13 years. She recorded her violin playing for: Kurt Bestor, Sam Cardin, Osmond Studios, Broadcast International, and others.

When Katherine was 20 years old, she, performed in the famed Carnegie Hall “Christmas Concerts” three times as a violinist in the celebrated New York String Orchestra with Yo Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and others. In addition, She performed with Luciano Pavarotti, played solo violin with and was concertmaster of the Fresh Aire/Mannheim Steamroller Orchestra. She played forty performances with them in Capital Theater in SLC, Utah; played in bands of George Benson, Johnny Mathis, Donna Summer, Ben Vereen, and Isaac Hayes. "Katherine was violin soloist in the New York production of “Annie” in Capital Theater in SLC, and violin soloist in “Fiddler on the Roof” at Pioneer Memorial Theater, at the University of Utah. She performed violin and piano for numerous performances for Tanner Creative Dance at Capital Theater, SLC, Kingsbery Hall at the University of Utah and the “Black Box Theater,” located at Tanner Dance at the University of Utah.

Katherine performed solo violin music for numerous gatherings at Macchu Piccu and the Temple of Unconditional Love in Peru; in Bahia and Brazilia, Brazil; and in Florence, Assisi, and Venice, Italy.
